The Deployment Research Lab

One of the students attending the ViaMonstra Online Academy reached out and asked for a spec of the lab I used for most of my demos. Well, look no further. here it is:

The Deployment Research Lab

The Machines

My main research lab for the Arwidmark's consists of two HP Z840, and six Dell OptiPlex 7040 machines. Don't mind the HP Micro Server to the right, it's my old media server, and is not used in the lab 🙂

The Physical Networks

Most of the networks used in the lab are virtual, but I do a have a few physical switches as well. Both the HP Z840s have dual 10 GBE network cards, connected to a NetGear switch (NETGEAR 28-Port Gigabit/10G Stackable Smart Switch – GS728TX, and i also have a smaller NetGear switch for some of the Dell machines (NETGEAR 10-Port Gigabit/10G Ethernet Plus Switch – GS110EMX). I'm also using a dedicated Ubiquiti WiFi Access Point for Wireless access, as well as a Ubiquiti EdgeMax EdgeRouter Lite ERLite-3 router for Internet access to the lab.

The Virtual Networks

I'm currently using four different virtual pfSense routers, with 3-7 networks each.
