Creating Pre-Caching Task Sequences From Other Task Sequences using PowerShell

In a previous post, you learned how to use PowerShell to create a pre-caching task sequence for ConfigMgr from a list of packages, more specifically a list of driver packages. Here is a PowerShell script that creates a pre-caching task sequence from another task sequence.

Here is the script: https://github.com/DeploymentResearch/DRFiles/blob/master/Scripts/ConfigMgr/New-PreCacheTaskSequenceFromAnotherTS.ps1

In this example I had a production deployment task sequences referencing 24 packages, and I wanted to have a pre-caching task sequence with the same packages.

Source Task Sequence.

After running the script, I had the pre-cache Task Sequence below. This task sequence was configured to only download the content.

Note: This requires that the deployment is configured to "Download all content locally before starting task sequence".

Resulting pre-cache task sequence.
Condition added to only reference the packages.
