Sign your unsigned drivers – Damn It

For a driver to be ranked correctly by the windows 7 setup it should be signed, and for Windows 7 x64 deployments it really needs to be signed. Here is an article on how to sign a driver for Windows 7 for testing.

Here is a download for deploying a complete ConfigMgr 2012 RTM infrastructure in either Hyper-V or VMware: One Domain Controller and one ConfigMgr 2012 RTM member server – Including pre-requisites like .Net Framework, SQL 2008 R2 SP1 CU6 (or higher) and IIS – all fully automated.

Once configured, the total build time for the full ConfigMgr 2012 RTM lab environment is about 1.5 hours (on my laptop).

MDT 2012 Beta 2 – Configuring User Driven Installation (UDI) with ConfigMgr

User Driven Installation (UDI) is a solution, based on ConfigMgr 2007/2012, to allow technicians and/or end-users select various deployment settings during an installation: Settings like language settings, Bitlocker settings or what applications to deploy. Shorthand story, it’s a deployment Frontend. But it’s not only that – UDI also comes with a designer that allows you as an administrator to design the frontend.
